Privacy Policy

KarvIQ (“KarvIQ”, “we”, “us”) is a vehicle record app operated by Progranza, based in India. This policy explains what data we collect through the KarvIQ website (karviq.in) and the KarvIQ mobile apps, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using KarvIQ, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Account information - email address and password (or sign-in credentials), used to create and secure your account.
Vehicle information - make, model, year, registration number, and odometer readings you add.
Service records and documents - service history, bills, warranty and insurance documents, and photos you upload or scan.
Location - only if you use the “nearby garages” feature, and only with your permission. We do not track your location in the background.
Family sharing data - if you invite a family member to a vehicle, they can see that vehicle’s service history, documents, and renewal dates.
Device and diagnostic data - basic crash and error reports (via Sentry), used only to fix bugs.
Communications - your email address if you join our waitlist or receive renewal/service reminder emails from us.

AI-assisted bill scanning

When you scan a bill or service document, the photo is sent to Google Gemini (and, as a fallback, OpenAI) to extract structured details like the workshop name, parts, cost, and date. These providers process the image via their business/API terms to return that data to KarvIQ — they are not used to browse or share your documents for any other purpose.

How we use your information

To operate core features: service history, document storage, and renewal reminders (PUC, insurance, warranty).
To extract structured data from scanned bills automatically.
To show nearby garage activity when you use that feature.
To let you share a vehicle’s record with family members you invite.
To send you service/renewal reminder emails and, if you join our waitlist, a confirmation email.
To diagnose and fix crashes or errors.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share data with

We use the following service providers to run KarvIQ. Each processes data only as needed to provide their service to us:

Supabase - authentication, database, and file storage.
Google Gemini and OpenAI - bill/document OCR extraction (see above).
Resend - sending reminder and confirmation emails.
Sentry - crash and error reporting.
Cloudflare - hosting for the karviq.in website.

Data retention and deletion

You can permanently delete your account from within the app at any time. Doing so deletes your uploaded bills and documents, and your profile, vehicles, service records, warranties, maintenance schedules, and notification history. This action cannot be undone.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time from within the app, or by emailing us at hello@karviq.app.

Children’s privacy

KarvIQ is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as KarvIQ evolves. We’ll update the effective date above when we do, and post material changes here.
